There are, no doubt,
distinctions between formal and informal education.
Formal education is classroom-based, provided by
trained teachers. The goal of this type of
education is to inform the pupils throughout new
knowledge, to become familiar with educational
techniques which empower them with a certain
educational independence.

distinctii intre educatia formala si informala.
Educatia formala e cea in clasa, realizata de
profesori instruiti. Scopul acesteia e de a informa
elevii dobandind astfel noi cunostinte, devenind
familiarizati cu noi tehnici educationale care le
asigura o anumita independenta. |

Informal education
happens outside the classroom, in after-school
programs, community-based organizations, museums,
libraries, or at home. It is less formal but with
the same formative result. The educational actions
placed within this type of education are flexible
and welcome different interests, for each person. |
Educatia informala e cea
din afara clasei, din programele de dupa scoala, din
organizatiile comunitatilor, muzee, librarii si
chiar de acasa. E mai putin formala dar are acelasi
rezultat formative. Actiunile educationale sunt
flexibile si privesc interese diferite, pentru
fiecare persoana in parte.

Schools are one of the
most important agents of socialization. Peer groups
and teachers have a major impact upon the
socialization of schoolchildren. In the case of the
former, such groups exert “peer pressure” which
influence students to conform to various norms and
values. Teachers need to meet educational standards
and stick to a specified curriculum. After-school
programs, on the other hand, can be more flexible
with their content.

Scolile constituie unii
dintre cei mai important agenti de socializare.
Grupurile de elevi si profesorii au un impact major
asupra socializarii elevilor. Grupurile de elevi de
o seama exerciteza o anumita presiune care
influenteaza elevii sa se conformeze anumitor norme
si valori. Profesorii trebuie sa respecte anumite
standarde educationale si un curriculum. Programele
de dupa scoala, insa, poti fi mai flexibile in
continut.

While formal education
tends to take place in schools, informal education
is not at all tied up with the physical setting.
What is important is building a propitious
atmosphere for teaching. Real learning can happen in
a setting where kids feel less intimidated or more
comfortable than they do in a formal classroom.

In timp ce educatia
formala are loc in scoli, cea informala nu e legata
deloc de locatie fizica. E important sa exista o
atmosfera propice invatarii. Invatarea poate avea
loc intr-o locatie in care elevii sa se simta mai
putin intimidate sau mai comfortabil decat intr-o
clasa formala.

Either way the accent is
on intelligence, curiosity, passion, character,
motivation, taste, intuition, writing skills, and
the ability to make smart value judgments.

In orice caz, accentual e
plasat pe inteligenta, curiozitate, pasiune,
caracter, motivatie, gust, intuitie si abilitatea de
a face judecati de valoare.
